Nutella Cheesecake French Toast Roll Ups

Nutella Cheesecake

25 to 30 minutes

As many as you want!

On my never ending search for ways of delivering Nutella, I've discovered another delicious method in the form of French Roast roll ups!

What you need

  • Tall thick sliced white bread
  • Nutella
  • Mascarpone
  • 2 large free range eggs
  • 25 ml of milk
  • Ground nutmeg
  • Salt
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Caster sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Honey
  • Butter

**Pro tip** warm your Nutella in the microwave for 30 seconds to soften.

Start by creating the bread rolls. Cut away the crusts of each slice individually and discard. Using a rolling pin on a clean, dry surface roll the bread as flat as you can.

Spread Nutella and then mascarpone thickly along the length of the flattened bread, leaving a 1-2cm gap at one end. Roll into a tight roll. Using a knife, spread a small amount of honey along the empty end and press to seal the roll.

Create your batter / custard. Crack the eggs into a shallow dish. Add the milk, a pinch of nutmeg, half a teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of caster sugar and a pinch of salt. Beat together well. Heat your pan with a knob of butter.

Quickly soak three rolls in your batter, making sure all sides get a quick covering. Transfer to the heated pan. Fry for 30 secs per side or until golden brown, turning regularly and evenly. Set aside to a hot plate if possible. Repeat as many times as required!!

Arrange the sticks seductively, covering them in maple syrup or honey. Grab your phone and take a picture to tag me in (Instagram @toms_big_eats) and then dunk away in your favourite dip!!!
